LG Electronics, leading provider of home appliances, digital technology, and mobile phones, recently unveiled its flagship “Optimus Vu” handset in local market, offering a unique combination of tablet-like viewing with smartphone portability.
The model was officially launched at a press conference held on December 18th, 2012, at LG’s headquarters, whereby Mobile Marketing Manager at LG Levant, Mohammad Al Yousef spoke about the “Optimus Vu” features.
At the event he explained that the Optimus Vu was designed to maximize what customers could do with a smart-phone by offering an optimal 4:3 ratio viewing experience, 5-inch display combined with attributes of high functionality, and user friendliness in one.
The model’s large 5-inch display with optimal 4:3 aspect ratio makes viewing documents, books, internet and multimedia content easier and more comfortable. This aspect ratio is optimized for viewing to grasp more at a glance and for note taking, thus increasing productivity in everyday life. Moreover, Optimus Vu utilizes IPS display technology which realizes every color in its natural state, ensuring the best viewing experience even under bright sunlight and provides a wide viewing angle and crystal clear colors at 768X1024 for content on the display and 650 nits of brightness.
With dimensions of 139.6 x 90.4 x 8.5 mm, this model is the thinnest in its category and perfectly suited for a hand and fits comfortably in a jacket pocket. The device runs on a powerful NVIDIA TEGRA 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM , 32 GB internal memory and comes with an 8-mega pixel LED Flash back camera and a 1.3 mega pixel front camera to support video calls.
It also supports WiFi and DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) teachnologies, and HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface), thus allowing for easy share of and transfer of data and multimedia content across devices and on TV. The device uses a 2,080 mAh battery.
Furthermore, the Optimus Vu operates using the latest edition of the Android 4.0 platform (ice cream sandwich) operating system, granting greater support for a wider spectrom of applications. Its unique built-in QuickMemo™ allows users to conveniently capture screenshots and write memos with a single push. Furthermore its capture, comment and share with QuickMemo feature allows for the sharing of content with ease.
