More than 50 Etisalat executives promoted to higher roles by a world class executive leadership programme managed by Etisalat
Abu Dhabi, 9 May, 2012: The global ambitions of Etisalat, the telecommunications corporation with operations in 17 markets across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, have been enhanced by a world class executive leadership programme managed by the Etisalat Academy in conjunction with Harvard, Duke Business School and Informa.
More than 81 executives drawn from Etisalat’s international operations completed the first year of the programme designed to accelerate personal and career development and create a long-term sustainable global leadership pipeline to meet Etisalat’s growth and global ambitions when they gathered for the annual networking event at the Intercontinental Hotel, Abu Dhabi.
Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, Etisalat group chief executive officer, said: “Human capital is the greatest asset of any organisation and, in a diverse, multi-cultural, multinational company with global ambitions like Etisalat, it is a business imperative that we not only attract the best talent to our business but also develop it.

The HiPo programme is the first time that a comprehensive Action Learning Program has been developed in the region by Duke Corporate Education, the business school ranked number one byBusiness Week and Financial Times for nine years. The programme is also enhanced by the Harvard Mentor programme and through specialist business insights delivered by Informa.

The two year HiPo programme is already delivering exceptional results. Of the 81 high performers selected for the programme from 220 nominations, nearly 50 percent have been promoted since initial selection, while others have, or in the process, of being quickly accelerated to senior level roles.
