Pretoria – Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has wished well Grade 12 learners in Limpopo’s Vhembe District, who will be rewriting the Life Sciences Paper 1.
A total of 15 960 full-time and 1 540 part-time candidates will write the Life Sciences examination on Friday at 11am.
The Department of Basic Education has deployed monitors from the department to assist with the administration of the examination in the province.
“It is regrettable that the whole district has to rewrite the examination due to the selfish and unethical behaviour of certain people.
“It was necessary to protect the integrity of the examination after it was discovered that it was leaked and circulated to learners before the exam,” the Department of Basic Education said.
The department said this is an opportunity for all the learners in the district to do even better if they studied hard for the initial examination.
